O laboratório de pesquisa e design SPACE10 lançou um concurso global de design para reimaginar as casas e bairros usando Inteligência Artificial (IA), alcançando participantes que não só se cingiam nas profissões da arquitectura e design, mas em outras áreas criativas e com origens nos quatro continentes.

Um júri internacional composto por dez arquitetos, designers, artistas de IA e jornalistas avaliou mais de 250 propostas de todo o mundo e selecionou as quatro vencedoras.

Com o Regenerative Futures a organização pretendia criar uma plataforma para explorar colectivamente como a IA pode aprimorar as capacidades imaginativas. Os conceitos resultantes são visões esperançosas e pragmáticas de um futuro mais coletivo e inclusivo para todos.

“Ficamos felizes em receber um número tão grande de inscrições de todos os quatro continentes e uma variedade de disciplinas”, disse Ryan Sherman do SPACE10. “Os resultados realmente mostram o potencial das ferramentas emergentes de IA para permitir visões novas, diversas e esperançosas do futuro – em uma época que exige que imaginemos maneiras de viver.”

Regenerative futures: ‘dreamers’ imagine the future through Artificial Intelligence

The research and design lab SPACE10 launched a global design competition to reimagine homes and neighbourhoods using Artificial Intelligence (AI), reaching out to participants not only girded in the architecture and design professions, but in other creative fields and with backgrounds on four continents.

An international jury composed of ten architects, designers, AI artists and journalists evaluated more than 250 proposals from around the world and selected the four winners.

With Regenerative Futures the organisation aimed to create a platform to collectively explore how AI can enhance imaginative abilities. The resulting concepts are hopeful and pragmatic visions of a more collective and inclusive future for all.

“We were delighted to receive such a large number of entries from all four continents and a variety of disciplines,” said Ryan Sherman of SPACE10. “The results really show the potential of emerging AI tools to enable new, diverse and hopeful visions of the future – at a time that demands we imagine ways of living.”
