Os artistas plásticos moçambicanos representados pela galeria Arte de Gema, Bata, Thandi Pinto, Mapfara e Mulalene estão na feira de arte Galerias Africanas Agora 2023 que acontece no formato online e é dirigida pela curadora de arte e pesquisadora, Amogelang Maledu.

As obras expostas nesta feira vão desde a escultura em cerâmica de Mapfara, a técnica mista conhecida pelo uso de materiais reciclados e sobretudo o metal, de Bata, o trabalho de colagem sobre fotografia, até Thandi Pinto e a pintura em acrílico de Mulalene. Este conjunto de trabalhos mereceu a atenção da conceituada curadora sul-africana que é membro do Comité de Obras de Arte da Universidade de Cape Town.

A feira Galerias Africanas Agora está aberta entre 29 de Março e 15 de Abril de 2023 e inclui vários artistas africanos representados por galerias membros da African Art Galleries Association – AAGA, organização formada em resposta à necessidade de apoiar o crescimento e a sustentabilidade dos setores de arte contemporânea na África no contexto do aumento do interesse internacional pela arte contemporânea no continente.

A Arte de Gema é uma galeria e agência de arte moçambicana, cujos principais objetivos é explorar a arte em perspectiva global e desafiar os talentos emergentes e os artistas estabelecidos através de diferentes conceitos curadores e abordagens na produção, pesquisa e promoção de suas obras de arte nos domínios profissionais.

Mozambican artists selected for African Galleries Now art fair

 

The Mozambican plastic artists represented by the gallery Arte de Gema, Bata, Thandi Pinto, Mapfara and Mulalene are at the art fair Africans Galleries Now 2023, which takes place in an online format and is directed by the art curator and researcher, Amogelang Maledu.

The works on display at this fair range from Mapfara’s ceramic sculpture, Bata’s mixed technique known for its use of recycled materials and especially metal, to Thandi Pinto’s collage work on photography and Mulalene’s acrylic painting. This body of work caught the attention of the renowned South African curator who is a member of the Art Works Committee of the University of Cape Town.

The African Galleries Now fair is open between 29 March and 15 April 2023 and includes a number of African artists represented by member galleries of the African Art Galleries Association – AAGA, an organisation formed in response to the need to support the growth and sustainability of contemporary art sectors in Africa in the context of increased international interest in contemporary art on the continent.

Arte de Gema is a Mozambican gallery and art agency, whose main objectives are to explore art in global perspective and to challenge emerging talents and established artists through different curatorial concepts and approaches in the production, research and promotion of their artworks in professional domains.
