A Inteligência Artificial não faz arte, faz imagens. O que torna essas imagens geradas arte são os artistas humanos por trás da IA – os artistas que alimentaram os dados da máquina, mexeram com seus botões e selecionaram a saída. Começa por afirmar, Ahmed Egmmal, na longa reflexão em que justifica o uso do termo “A.I. The age of AI has killed creative inspiration 

“Text-to-Image Generators Have Altered the Digital Art Landscape—But Killed Creativity. Here’s Why an Era of A.I. Art Is Over” argues A.I. researcher and and AI-Art expert Ahmed Elgammal, on how A.I. art went from innovation to limitation.

Artificial Intelligence does not make art; it makes images. What makes these generated images art is the human artists behind A.I.—the artists who fed data to the machine, played with its knobs, and curated the output. Ahmed Egmmal, begins by stating, in the long reflection in which he justifies the use of the term “A.I. Art”, when he talks about human art that uses A.I. as part of the creative process, with varying degrees of autonomy. ” We are entering an era of massive use of such tools. However, the era when these tools struck a spark of artistic genius might be behind us” warns the expert in an article where he explores examples that have shown the failure of AI for artistic creation.

The expert acknowledges that, in some ways, A.I. is becoming more like humans, but, he argues, it is not able to see the world with eyes that complement or challenge us. And he points out the flaws ” A.I. still makes surprising failures in generation.

We still get figures with four-fingered hands and three legs. However, these kinds of dumb failures are not necessarily interesting. It is not the kind of failure that caused the uncanny aesthetics of earlier generative A.I. Creative inspiration is not the only thing lost in this new generation of A.I. models relying on text prompts. The main idea of using text to generate images can limit artists. Artists are visual thinkers. Describing what they want using words adds an extra, unnatural layer of linguistic abstraction.”
